Our Rolling Red Wine Decanter is a Tsuga Studios classic in that it is a very functional object designed to help wine fulfill its potential while also retaining a beautiful and decorative elegance only found in blown glass objects. First we designed the decanter to encourage the breathing process for red wine. Like most wine decanters, the wide waist of the form allows more surface area of the wine to reach the air. But the rolling decanter is unique in that as you roll the decanter, the wine rolls inside, not sloshing but gently folding over itself allowing the red wine to breathe more effectively.

Our decanter is designed to hold a full 750 ml bottle although you may decide to start with less. Use a spot on your table where the decanter has enough room to roll in a circle (about 12-14 inches in diameter) and not too near the edge of the table. The decanter will not however wander or wind off the table. It will roll in a concentric circle over and over until it finds a resting place . To pour a clean glassful when decanting an older bottle of wine, hold the neck of the decanter and pour slowly into the glass so as to leave the sediment on the shoulder of the form.
